Son Heung-min is the new Tottenham Hotspur captain for 2023/2024 season

Tottenham Hotspur New Captain 2023-2024 season:  Son Heung-min  

Tottenham Hotspur has officially announced that South Korea player Son Heung-min has been confirmed as the new club captain of Tottenham Hotspur for the 2023/24 season on Saturday afternoon (August 2023). This announcement was also made after the statement of English captain Harry Kane transferred to Bayern Munich. James Maddison and Cristian Romero were both appointed as vice-captains.

The 31 years old South Korea player, Son Heung-min will take over the captain's armband from Hugo Lloris (goal-keeper & former captain). It was reported that Harry Kane would be the next captain, however, the situation has changed after Kane’s decision to transfer to Batern Muninch.

Son Heung-min (July 8, 1992)  is a South Korean talented footballer, and also one of the Asian players with amazing achievement and popularity. Son Heung-min began his football journey with the youth academy of FC Seoul in 2008. But he officially debuted in 2010 representing the club’s senior team and his remarkable performance on the field has caught the Europe scouts attention. Since then, he has moved to the German Bundesliga.

Son Heung-min then joined English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur in 2015. His speed, goal scoring and dribbling skill also made him one of the key players and scorers in the team. His consistent performance also made him the team’s all-time goalscorer, with145 goals in 372 matches representing Tottenham Hotspur.

Son Heung-min is the forward and captain for the South Korea national team. Also becoming the new captain for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur recently.  Son Heung-min is also Spurs’ first non-European captain in their 141-year history.  As a four years captain leading the South Korea team, Son Heung Min was definitely very experienced in leading Tottenham to a whole new victory.

According to the statistics, Son Heung-min’s net worth is estimated around $55 Million Dollars up to 2023.  Son Heung-min is the most expensive Asian football player as he has joined Tottenham Spurs for £22 million.
