What is The Asian Games?
The Asian Games is a multi-sport tournament that is recognized by the International Olympic Committee(IOC). The tournament is held every 4 years, with more than 40 Asian regions competing for the championship title. Countries from Asia, including nations from the Middle East, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and East Asia, are participating in the Asian Games. It is also known as the second-largest multi-sport event after the Olympic Games.

First Esports Inclusion in the Asian Games
The rising popularity in Esports also made Esports included as a demonstration sport in the 2018 Asian Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The inclusion of Esports in Asian Games also recognized the event as a mainstream sport.

The esports category in the 2023 Asian Games will be held from September 24 with Dota 2 finals closing the event on October 2, 2023.
14 countries were first seeded at the Road to Asian Games prelude, which saw teams compete in their individual Asian region: East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, and West Asia. Once teams were sorted and seeded, the top team from each subregion was given a pass to the playoffs, with the other teams battling out via a group stage.

19th Asian Games Results DOTA
Both China and Malaysia had earned direct berths to the event's Playoffs by winning the Road to Asian Games preliminary tournaments for East Asia and Southeast Asia, respectively, in July. However, China's national team has finally gained the gold medal after an intense match over Malaysia, with a score of 2-1.
China started strong in the first game, dominating the early and mid-game phases with stellar performances from Lu "Somnus" Yao's Earth Spirit, Yang "Chalice" Shenyi's Broodmother, and Wang "Ame" Chunyu's Monkey King. However, Malaysia staged an impressive comeback led by Cheng "NothingToSay" Jin Xiang's Tinker, creating opportunities for Daniel "Ghost" Chan's Sven. After an intense 51-minute battle, Malaysia emerged victorious in the first game.
China then gained their first victory in 39 minutes and maintained their momentum in the final third game, where Ame's Faceless Void, Somnus' Kunkka, and Chalice's Magnus orchestrated a convincing victory in just 38 minutes, securing their spot in the gold medal match. China now awaits the winner of the semi-final match between Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan, which will determine their opponent in the Dota 2 event's gold medal clash on Monday, October 2nd. Meanwhile, Malaysia will compete against the losing team in the bronze medal match on the same day.
